Overview and Purpose
The Health Information Management Association of Australia Limited (HIMAA) is the professional representative body of Health Information Managers in Australia. HIMAA was formed in 1949 and later moved to represent members at the federal level and through a number of state branches.

The objectives of the association are to:
  • Develop an organisation through which members can develop a professional identity
  • Establish, monitor and improve standards
  • Contribute to the development of knowledge and research
  • Review and accredit education programs in health information management
